Life Aboard the Par-adise Afloat

The cruise ship in the golf game used to feel empty. Now its pools are full of swimmers, its theaters are packed, and the buffet has a queue.

When the cruise ship first went into the golf game, it had six decks and not much happening on them. This week it filled up. The camera sits closer, the passengers have new, more detailed art, and there are hundreds of people doing something on every deck.

The pool deck

The pools are full of swimmers, children run around the splash area, and the loungers are taken. At the far end, guests play three mini-golf lanes while two teams play basketball on a full court.

Shows

The aqua theater has an audience of 64 and swimmers performing in the pool. On the promenade, the main theater has a full house watching a singer, and a second singer works the lounge.

The boardwalk

The carousel turns with children riding, and the burger stand and ice-cream counter have queues.

Food, and a buffet that works

The restaurants have diners at their tables, with plates of food in front of them, and every counter has staff. Up on the sun deck, some buffet guests really do the whole thing: they queue, collect a tray, carry it to a table, eat, and go back for seconds.

And to bed

Down on the cabin deck, some passengers are already asleep, others are out on their balconies facing the sea, and the lounge has games of chess and foosball going.

What is yours to play

Much of this is background life: the basketball game, the carousel, the shows and the chess are there to make the ship feel lived in, not games you play. The nine holes of mini golf with all five friends, Cal's karaoke, the poolside rhythm game, the buffet memory game and the ship's quests are yours to play.
